On the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, I passed by Xiaogu Mountain. The mountain rises steeply and pierces the clouds. At its summit stands a pavilion named "Viewing the Sea." From there, one can see the vast river with scattered sails, making one feel refreshed and at ease. Although Xiaogu Mountain is not as grand as the Five Great Mountains, it is renowned for its beauty and perilous terrain. Surrounded by rivers, its shimmering waters resemble a natural painting. Ancient trees tower above, and birds sing melodiously, adding an extra layer of tranquility.
Continuing onward, I arrived at Dagushan. This mountain resembles a reclining dragon, undulating gently. At its foot lies a temple where incense burns continuously. Entering it, one sees statues of Buddhas that command respect, along with exquisite murals that captivate the eye. Standing on top of the mountain, looking down at the surrounding peaks, one feels the vastness of the world and an open heart. Dagushan not only offers pleasant scenery but also carries rich cultural heritage; many poets and scholars have left behind moving verses here.
Though both mountains differ in their characteristics, they together form a captivating landscape painting. They are not only geographical landmarks but also spiritual symbols. While admiring these sights, we can also sense the ancients' reverence and affection for nature.
